Houston, Texas – April 16, 2015 – RAE Energy has been awarded multiple spoolbase subcontracts by EMAS in the Gulf of Mexico. Scope of works include manual welding services, field joint coating (FJC) and the design and build of a containerised firing line assembly in partnership with the spoolbase operator.
The EMAS awards to RAE Energy follow recent, successfully completed, Subcontract awards in Q4 2014 during which RAE provided fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) and Injection Moulded Polyurethane (IMPU) field joint coating services. Simultaneously, RAE supported EMAS with on-site coating of special fabrications and pipe end blasting for both projects scopes.
The containerised firing line is now installed at the Ingleside Spoolbase and production is complete on the first of two projects. The welding scope included management of the firing line plus welding services using TIG and GSFCAW on more than 21 miles of 8.625” x 0.75” Carbon Steel pipe. The FJC scope consisted of full FBE application services, including all pre-qualification work, testing, procedural management and site supervision. The second project which started in March, consists of welding and the application of FBE and IMPU field joint coating.
